Holiday Spirit

This week was another busy week for the Holiday Spectacular as we have our last week of rehearsals before tech week! The show is an hour and a half, so we have been running the shows and fixing all of the problems spots as we go along. We also got to meet the children that are in the show, and there are so many of them! I saw all of their tiny costumes, when I went to get my costume fitted and my heart felt like it was going to burst. They wear little tiny Christmas trees in ones dance, and tiny reindeer outfits in another. It is a bit stressful to try and add in so many kids into the dances, but they are so cute it’s worth it. I love all of the moments that they get to look out into the audience, and wave at their parents. I can’t wait to see them with an audience, and an entire theater of eyes on them. Watching the young kids talk about Santa brings back the magic of the holidays, and I think I’ve missed that. I don’t have any super young siblings or cousins, so Christmas time isn’t like what it used to be. It’s definitely fun to see them get so excited about Christmas and all the magic that comes with the holidays at that age.  I think the best part of the show, is that it’s just heartfelt holiday music! It isn’t a crazy hard show to do, and most of the time I’m onstage I am just dancing and singing in groups with my friends! Even better that we’re singing Christmas music, to what will eventually be an audience of our family and friends. We have a run of shows for a week, then get to go home to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. It is the best send off we could have into our holiday break. We also end that break coming back and doing another run of shows. It definitely is getting me into the holiday spirit, even if it’s a bit early.
