Thanksgiving Week
When school got out on Friday, I watched everyone pack up and go home while all of my friends and I still had three shows ahead of us. I was very excited for our shows, but once I saw people start to leave I was really ready to go home. We had an amazing weekend of SOLD OUT shows, and hung out all weekend on a campus that seemed almost completely empty. We had our annual dip party, where everyone brings a homemade dip and we all try them. The seniors vote on the best sweet and savory dips, as well as a few fun other silly categories. On Saturday, we had a two show day, or as some people say, ‘two dow shay!’ Below is a picture from Santa Baby, one of our last numbers in the show! (And my favorite!)
I got up early Sunday morning and drove home, after stopping at Dunkin’ of course. I underestimated how tired I would be after this weekend of shows, and after the excitement of seeing my family I took the longest nap I have had in quite some time. I spent most of the week catching up on sleep, and spending time with my family. Most night consisted of Christmas movie marathons or finding random documentaries to binge watch. Thanksgiving looked a little different this year, as my parents, brother, both of my grandmas, and I decided not to go to the entire family’s get together. Because my grandmas are both so old, we decided to play it safe with Covid still around. We had our own gathering, that consisted of an early dinner and an attempt to play Uno. That wasn’t exactly a fan favorite among my grandma’s, but it sure was entertaining to play together. On Friday, me and my mom did some online Black Friday shopping to get ready for Christmas. The week was wonderfully lazy, and a much needed break. Onto the second weekend of The Holiday Spectacular and the last three weeks of this semester! Only one more week of classes, dead week, finals, then CHRISTMAS!
I heard the show was AMAZING! I'm so mad at myself for not getting tickets, but I know now for next year. Being on campus while no one else is here makes the campus very eerie. I'm glad that you were able to find time to relax while having such a busy weekend of shows!
ReplyDeleteI 1000% agree that I was really ready to go home after a long weekend of shows. Although your Thanksgiving looked a little different, it sounds like it was still fun and worth it to stay safe. I love your positivity in looking forward to the rest of this semester, it makes me excited for everything to come, too!
ReplyDeleteOlivia, I am glad to hear this! My roommate actually went to one of the shows and said it was pretty awesome and packed. It is also good that you found time to relax, especially with all the stuff you have going on!
