Fall Changes

I absolutely love everything about fall, especially on this campus. The trees changing colors always makes my day, and the morning walk to class looks so gorgeous. I love the cooler weather, and the outfits I get to wear in the cold. In the summer, I feel like I never get to put together outfits with layers and it’s always so hot and sticky that you don’t want to dress up. I absolutely love to wear cozy sweaters and cozy sweatshirts and sweatpants. The fall also has the best activities to do with your friends, and it’s an excuse to go out and do stuff. What other time can you buy tiny pumpkins for way too much money, only to carve them and leave them outside until a squirrel comes and eats them. Not to mention all of the fun foods and drinks that come along with the season.  Just another reason to drive to your favorite pumpkin patch, and get donuts, apple cider, hot chocolate or anything pumpkin flavored. Last year, I took my friends home and went to Fleitz Pumpkin Patch, which is where I grew up going almost every year. It was a little bittersweet to go without my family, but was also so much fun to show my friends where I grew up going. I have to admit I hadn’t been in a few years, and I remembered it being much bigger and had more things to do than it actually did, but we still had fun. While fall brings all of these fun memories, it also brings colder weather and darker evenings. It’s much harder for me to get up in the morning, and pull myself out of bed when it’s so cold out. The rainy days are no fun, and you can almost feel the dread of snow coming soon. I love the changes in the seasons, even though they all come with their positive and negative traits. I can’t say I enjoy changes in my life like I do with the changes of the seasons. I have so much anxiety over changes, and it can be really scary to not know what is coming next. I hope that going forward I can see that changes in my life are just like the seasons, even with the good and the bad. Everything has to change, but it doesn’t all have to be bad.

  1. I relate to this so much. Fall is my favorite time. It's not too hot, not too cold, perfect for hoodies and cute fall clothes. Going to the pumpkin patches is my favorite thing to do, not to buy pumpkins, but to take pictures! I go every fall break to the pumpkin patch back home with my mom and it's a great tradition we have started for ourselves. I love how you are keeping a positive outlook on the changes in your life, very inspiring.

  2. Olivia, I totally relate to this blog post! I absolutely love the fall and the changing of weather. My favorite thing about fall is getting to make hot apple cider for the first time of the season!
